As you must be aware, the Covid-19 lockdown has had a major impact on sport in the UK. Not only watching live sport but also those taking part in sport has been severely affected. Whilst all cricket, both professional and social, is not permitted at this time, the ECB (governing body) is keen for players to keep healthy, stay fit and where possible continue to train.
Blackpool Cricket Club wish to support their players and are have implemented ECB guidelines to facilitate training at their ground. These guidelines will be strictly adopted to prevent the spread of coronavirus by abiding to all government social distancing regulations and preventative measures. They will also include cricket training safety regulations to reduce injuries.
In order to achieve the above it is a requirement of the club's insurance provider that all individuals taking part in any cricket activities MUST be members of the club. The high cost of this insurance, playing equipment and ground maintenance is normally highly subsidised by the club funds combined with the players subscriptions. Whilst the club appreciates that little or no cricket will be played this season, it is keen to provide opportunities for players to train, keep fit and remain involved in the sport. To this end, and to help both the players and the club afford the continuation of cricket training it has been agreed to reduce this years subscription charge to cricketers. This reduced charge is being supported by the club in order to invest in the success of cricket in the future.
The club provides the BOOKING SYSTEM and ECB GUIDELINES HERE.
